This review is from: Squeaky Bum Time: The Wit & Wisdom of Sir Alex Ferguson (Hardcover)
First of all it’s important to note that this is a book nearly formed entirely of quotes. Apart from the brief introductions to each section and the odd explanation of the context of the quote, there’s no more input from Daniel Taylor.
It’s not, as some may have believed, a book about some of Sir Alex’s highlights alongside quotes from the period. I say this because a friend of mine was surprised by this so I thought I should forewarn everyone else.
Other than that, it’s a good book of quotes but it’s a bit short (I’m sure you could fill 500 pages with Sir Alex’s quotes if done correctly) and the larger fonts make it seem like they’re using up space to beef the book up even more.
3 stars – Good but not a “must-read”. About a day’s worth of reading.

A disappointing purchase overall, considering the high quality of work you come to expect from Dan. Does what it says on the tin but it could have been put together better.

Neat little volume full of Ferguson witticisms; easy to read and the sort of book one can pick up, put down, pick up again later and still enjoy.Very reasonably priced and would make an excellent gift for any football fan. I think the author is a football writer for the Guardian….
